Spider Control in Missouri City
Most spiders are harmless and even helpful, but the two that are not, black widows and brown recluses, are worth taking seriously.
Webs in every corner? Most spiders are harmless and even eat other bugs, but black widows and brown recluses do show up in Texas garages and boxes, so they are worth clearing. We knock down the webs and treat the bugs the spiders are eating, because a lot of spiders usually means a lot of other bugs.
The two worth watching
Texas Parks and Wildlife notes both the black widow, glossy black with a reddish hourglass underneath, and the brown recluse, golden brown, occur in the state indoors and out. Neither is aggressive, but both turn up in garages, closets, woodpiles and boxes, so bite risk is real where people reach in without looking.
Treating the bugs they eat
Spiders follow their food. A house with lots of spiders usually has a supply of other insects, so we treat the webs and egg sacs and the underlying pests together, which is what brings the spider count down instead of clearing it for a week.
