Seeing big roaches even though your house is clean? That is usually the smokybrown roach coming in from the soffit or attic, or the big American roach coming up a drain. The small German roach is the one that breeds in kitchens. We figure out which one you have and treat where they are coming from, not just the ones you can see.
The three roaches of the Gulf Coast
Getting the species right decides the treatment. Texas A&M's entomologists name the smokybrown roach as the signature outdoor-and-attic roach of humid southeast Texas.
- Smokybrown: dark, an inch and a half, lives in soffits, eaves, attics, mulch and tree holes, and comes in through the roofline and a leaky roof
- American: the largest common roach, reddish brown, associated with drains, sewers, crawlspaces and garages
- German: small, indoor only, breeds fast in kitchens and bathrooms, and never originates from the yard in Texas
Treating where they come from
Smokybrowns need the roofline and outside harborage handled; German roaches need the inside breeding spots treated. We identify which one you have first, then treat accordingly, and tell you what we are applying and where.
